Commenting

This page is the place to comment about the site in general. I am happy to log any recommended cream tea locations left at this page or the Map overview for my future delectation, but will only publicly show any comments about a venue I have already reviewed, and then only alongside the specific blog post. (And please don’t suggest the kind of places which I have said is not my focus.)

Feel free to add any relevant comments about the food, the drink, the venue etc – positive or negative – against the relevant blog post. Or if you disagree with any of my opinions, please also write a polite comment there. But I will neither publish offensive comments nor those which criticise staff or ‘service’ – we all know that people can have off days and it is better to complain directly if necessary.

If any venue closes, cream teas stop being served, or prices change, then in your comments please give me a source and the time to double-check your information before expecting me to change the blog.

  1. Congratulations, Ditch. This site is a great service for cream tea lovers.

My only observation is that you say on a different page that you have visited 256 places since late April 2015 for a cream tea. As we are now mid-September 2015, that averages approximately 10 cream teas per week. Have you not reached the point where you cannot face the sight of yet another one? In addition, how are your cholesterol levels and waistband – both increasing?

Interestingly, I found your observations about the quality of the tea to be very important. Loose leaf Earl Grey definitely enhances the cream tea.

    Keep up the good work!

    John

    • Thanks John. I tend to binge on maybe 6-8 in a day, then leave it a while, and I only eat 1/8 of a scone with cream and another 1/8 without (unless I come across somewhere really good!) And yes – I can no longer enjoy the average cream tea, but I still enjoy the odd great one.
